Patricia Viola went missing on Feb 13, 2001 from Bogota, New Jersey. The 42 year old wife and mother went about her morning like any other. She packed lunches for her two children and kissed her husband goodbye as he headed to work. She said goodbye to her children as they headed to school, then got herself ready and left the house at 8:30am to volunteer in the library at her son’s school. She left the library at 11:30 and walked home. Patricia listened to her mother’s message left on the answering machine at 12:30. The home security system’s alarm was set at 1:10. Patricia was never seen alive again. In July 2002, partial remains were found at Rockaway Beach in Queens, about 33 miles from the Viola home. In Sept 2012 the remains were identified as belonging to Patricia. The cause of death is unknown and this sad case is still open.
