What happened to Ray Timbrook on Friday, March 13, 1992? Was his a murder of opportunity, or was he the intended victim? There are still many unanswered questions concerning his death. Ray Timbrook was found slumped across the steering wheel of his new Buick. The car’s engine was running and the car lights were on, drawing the attention of a passing police officer. When arriving at the scene the officer found that Ray had been shot twice, once in his face and the other shot entered behind his left ear, execution style. Ray had told his secretary that he had a meeting in the undeveloped housing area he was found at. But when questioned by police, the man he was to meet with said that he had cancelled. There has never been a gun found that could be connected to the crime. Ray was still wearing his watch and still had his wallet when he was found, so this was not a robbery. There are two witness statements, the first witness stated that she saw a man driving out of the area around the time of the murder. The other witness said that they saw two men standing at the open trunk of the car. Was this Ray speaking with another man? Beth goes into as much depth into this case as online sleuthing will allow. Not much of this case is public knowledge, but the family wants answers and the only way to do this is to keep putting Ray Timbrook’s name out there…..and what’s will the mysterious note dropped into the grave with Ray’s casket???

This quaint little town was one of the many that was slated to be purchased in 1974 by the National Park Service, residence had no choice but to leave.
